Svanehøj to provide pumps for 15 LNG dual-fuel container vessels

Danish marine pump specialist Svanehøj has won an order from China’s Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding to produce gas pump methods for 15 new build dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7000 TEU).

The 30 deepwell fuel pumps will be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
This is one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders to date. It is also the second LNG gas pump techniques order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has positioned with Svanehøj within the final year. In Unexplained , Svanehøj signed a contract to provide deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell fuel pumps in 2021, and says there are many indications that sales might enhance even further in 2022.
“Until a couple of years ago, the usage of LNG as a marine gas was limited to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are now seeing a pointy improve in gasoline pump orders for deep sea vessels such as container ships and automotive carriers,” said Johnny Houmann, chief sales officer at Svanehøj. “We had been chosen because the provider of gasoline pump techniques for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we goal to increase our market share additional within the coming years.”
